Living the dream: Convocation Fair 2008

This is my first time getting involve in the convocation fair and SIEM did the same thing which is a maze..It was meant to be just a maze but somehow it turned out to be a little haunted - with masked ghosts, weird hanging stuff in it, dim lighted or scary kind of feeling in the maze, plus we used black cloth and green plastic as the partition for the routes. So...its kinda eerie.

Okay, so this post is about the preparation and the next post is all the 4 days of the fair.

The fair started on the 22/8 till the 25th but I was back in the Uni on Tuesday and started preparing on Wednesday,20/8.The preparation took us two days but luckily it was during our mid-term break, so we just work and work till past midnight. It is ExHaustiNG!!..The girls did most of the decorations inside and the guys did the technical part from putting up the cloth, wires and so forth. Of course the girls did the field work too...We did the last touch ups and whatever that guys couldn't do well..hehe. Anyway, we finished setting up on friday morning, 3am..Gosh. It was so tiring and we got to wake up early the next morning to prepare for the opening.

I think i didnt do much on the site except for cutting up threads for them and supervising but I contributed on the entrance of the maze.. lol..Spend time doing it together with Joo & Steph.. It looks pretty cheerful at first, but in the end, we managed to make it look more like our theme..

But the entrance was destroyed towards the last two days..as some people were a bit aggresive and the heavy rain played its part too..Anyhow, we replaced it with something else..So, it looked good too.. Preps for the inside - the route, wasn't an easy task as we need to hang the cloth up with thread and wires and make sure that it is tightly bound to the top of the canopy. Lucky for us, i think this time we had enough people to help out, so...everyone did their own part.

Though it was tiring, it was a great experience..Guess its worth it for me to come back earlier..gosh everyone is surprised i'm willing to sacrifice my holidays..hehe. Well,..it depends.
